Leaders aren%E2%80%99t born, they're made, and this course offers an introduction to the central aspects of that leadership. Designed to familiarise you with the main concepts and theories, the course will give you the chance to then apply them critically to real world situations such as team or public leadership.We%E2%80%99ll closely examine various approaches within leadership studies, clarifying what leadership is - and what it is not. We will cover a broad range of topics such as the distinction between transformational and transactional leadership, leadership ethics, non-profit leadership and female leadership.Linking theoretical foundations of leadership studies with practical experience, the intensive programme includes group exercises, case analyses and a 'surprise challenge', alongside guest lectures and visits to see leadership in action.As a result, you%E2%80%99ll gain an understanding of the major concepts and approaches to leadership, the role of followers for the leadership process, and the role of contingency.
