TRANSPORT POLICY AND PLANNING: CITIES, SUSTAINABILITY AND PROJECT EVALUATIONThis second edition of the UB Economics Summer School aims to offer participants insights into the field of transport planning. The second 2015 edition will be offering two complementary courses:Course I %E2%80" Daniel Albalate (Universitat de Barcelona) %E2%80%9CEconomic evaluation of transportation projects: a course on cost-benefit analysis%E2%80%9DThe aim of this course is to introduce the Cost-Benefit Analysis methodology to evaluate transport infrastructure investments from the economic perspective. Course II %E2%80" David Banister (Oxford University) %E2%80%9CCities and sustainable transport%E2%80%9DThe aim of this course is to introduce a variety of ways in which passenger transport can be made more sustainable and to identify some of the barriers and challenges in increasing its sustainability.ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATESOur courses are accredited in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System. All participants in the Summer School will receive a certificate for the number of hours attended and will have a chance to earn 2 ECTS points (one per course), after submitting an essay at the end of the summer course. ECTS %E2%80" a common language for academic recognitionECTS, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, was developed by the European Commission in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad. It provides a way of measuring and comparing learning achievements and transferring them from one institution to another. This is achieved through the use of common ECTS credit units and a common ECTS grading scale.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an e-mail with a preliminary invoice attached and the payment procedure instructions. No admitted participant will be registered to attend any course unless the full tuition fee has been paid. Payments should all be made before June 26th 2015 in order to guarantee the place in the course. Upon reception of payment, an email containing acknowledge receipt of the course fees and therefore, the registration confirmation will be sent to the participant. Scholarships
