Target group
This course addresses students of architectural and urban design, urban planning, graphic and information design, prototyping, web design/ICT sciences, media management, urban ecology, and project management.
Course aim
Topic:Theoretical examination of and practical participation in the current urban design project "Flussbad" in Berlin.Learning Goal/Output:You will get insights and participate in a large-scale grass roots urban design project in all of its real world complexity. The course aims at fostering skills in the fields of data visualization, on site/hands on approaches, urban ecology, theory and practice of participation, research through design, project management, mapping techniques, surveys, communication design, product design, research organizationCourse Components:Historical bites of Berlin's water infrastructure planning strategies and water managementInsights and active participation in a current grass roots urban design projectConception and design of interventions / surveys / prototypes for the projectInterdisciplinary work methodsOn site explorationsDiscussion and collaboration with the Flussbad team
Credits info
5 ECTS 5 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) for the Summer School or 6 ECTS if booked along with the optional German language course.
Fee info
EUR 1850: The fee includes: the Summer School academic program, the career week and some extracurricular activities. Optional German language course not included (560 Euros)
