Target group
This course is designed for students of architecture, urban geography/sociology, visual & cultural studies, political sciences and anthropology, seeking new perspectives on multi-scalar spatial developments and their consequences at the neighborhood level.
Course aim
Learning Goal/Output:After taking part in this course, you will be able to critically examine dynamic relations between multiple actors of urban change, including trans-national enterprises, city administration, the cultural/ NGO sector and local activists.Course Components:You will have the chance to gain experience in the diverse ways of doing fieldwork, including mapping, psychogeography and artistic intervention. You will also have access to ZK/U (Centre for Arts and Urbanistics), a cultural institution, which will include lectures by experts, insights into artistic production and cultural events. Finally, some building structures will serve as a way of illustrating the results of our research and exploration.
Credits info
5 ECTS 5 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) for the Summer School or 6 ECTS if booked along with the optional German language course.
Fee info
EUR 1850: The fee includes: the Summer School academic program, the career week and some extracurricular activities. Optional German language course not included (560 Euros)
