The Science Summer School draws on this approach and the wealth of scientific excellence at Cambridge.The programme acknowledges that there is now no hard boundary between the different sciences: exciting advances are being made by interdisciplinary approaches. We draw on the expertise of a range of senior academic advisors across a variety of scientific fields in assembling this unique and exciting programme.The academic programme%E2%80%A2 One special subject course per week %E2%80%A2 Plenary course P01: Curiosity%E2%80%A2 Practical sessions%E2%80%A2 Evening lectures Special subject coursesYou choose one course for each week from the wide range of options. Each course meets five times during the week.Plenary lecturesLectures will focus on both past and present scientific studies, exploring topics which have developed in different directions and at different rates as a result of scientific curiosity. Talks will illustrate how humankind's insatiable quest for knowledge has driven scientific progress.Practical sessionsThese sessions take place on three afternoons each week, and are likely to include ecological, geological, and botanical 'trails', along with visits to institutes, collections and laboratories in Cambridge. Evening lecturesLectures provide introductions to additional aspects of science, as well as talks of general interest.

Target groupWe draw on the expertise of senior academics at Cambridge, to offer courses in a variety of scientific fields. The Summer School is suitable for undergraduates and graduates in sciences, as well as teachers and other professionals. The programme also welcomes those with a strong interest, but with little formal science training.

Credits infoThe University of Cambridge does not use a credit system for the awarding of its internal degrees, and cannot award credit directly for its International Summer School Programmes. Students wishing to obtain credit as a result of our evaluation should consult their own institutions in advance about the acceptability of the Summer School evaluation for credit purposes.
