Working Across Cultures in a Global World

This module runs in both sessions: June 13 - July 4, and July 4 - July 25. The course springs from the importance of intercultural competencies for the 21st century personal and professional worlds. It starts by supporting students in analysing their intercultural engagement during their time in London, focusing specifically on the identification of the challenges inherent in living and working in multicultural environments. It continues by developing, through interactive activities, skills such as recognizing, acknowledging, mediating and reacting to a variety of cultural expectations and norms of behaviour. The course contains throughout a reflective strand which involves students in reflecting on their intercultural reactions and how they could be developed.

Students with an IELTS score of 6.0 or higherMinimum age: 18

This module aims to: Enable a student to recognize and address some of the intercultural challenges encountered; Enhance a student's understanding of the theoretical underpinning of effective intercultural communication Support a student in reflecting on and analysing his/her own intercultural skills Develop critical professional transferable competencies in the area of intercultural communication

7.5 ECTS Each Summer School module is worth 15 UK credits. Official Transcripts are provided at the end of the course.
