Our organization consist of students from different nationalities including Turkey itself who have come to the university to be educated. Our aim is to adapt both Turkish and foreign students to the university and the country. In addition to this, we are creating a cordial environment which enables students to socialize with each other. Since its foundation in 2005, we have carried out 4 International Panels, 1 Aid Activity for the Victims of Flood, 3 Social Aid Activities, 1 Southeastern European Folk Dances Activity and 8 Cultural and Historical Trip Activities. Also we have readers from Middle East, Southeast Europe and the Caucasus to our magazine which will be released fort he 5th time, called “KOPRU".. Don’t forget the fact that we, as university students having different nationalities and languages and coming from various cultures and countries, make these activities and projects real. As an NGO, we have already applying the cultural sharing which Youth in Action Program is based on for 4 years limitedly. Come and meet us! We are eager to introduce ourselves to you!
What about also introducing this little lovely city, Edirne which our university is in to you? Edirne has numerous historical monuments because of the reason that it was the capital city of the Ottoman Empire for about 200 years before Istanbul once upon a time. Especially the monuments built by Mimar Sinan during his heyday are worth to seeing. Selimiye Mosque, one of those spectacular monuments, was nominated as the seven wonders of the world once. Moreover, its being a neighbour to both Greece and Bulgaria makes Edirne popular. Edirne which is the linking railway point between Europe and Asia was the centre of many historical civilisations. It was also an important stop for the Orient Express travelling between the ancient trading routes, the Silk Road and Shangay-Londra. Today, those works of art related with the trading routes are still displayed in a preserved way. You will not only take part in this project but also you will have chance to see Edirne and enjoy yourself.
