calendar_month 29 Iul 2015, 00:00
Visual Media Production %E2%80" Making Short Fiction FilmsThis is a hands-on, learning-by-doing production course, in which participants will make two short fiction films with guidance and feedback at every stage of the creative process. The main focus is on storytelling, and for the final project (a 4-7 min. film), attention will be given to developing a viable concept, then a screenplay and finally a storyboard/shooting script before production begins.Students will work in teams of approx. five participants per group and in addition to script development, will gain experience with such tasks as casting, location scouting, directing actors, camera work, lighting, sound recording, editing, etc. There will be instruction in the use of our semi%E2%80"professional cameras and editing program, and no previous experience with production equipment is necessary. After a few introductory lectures, the course will consist primarily of group work with feedback from the teacher. There will be no exam per se. Grades will be based on the productions and a report, 4-6 pages per participant. This course can count as a HUMfag and all discussions will be conducted in English. The first class meeting will be held on July 16 and the last one on August 13. Between those dates, there will be work virtually every day. The reports will be due on August 19 but will be sent to me as electronic files and participants in the course will not have to remain in Aarhus after August 13.For further information, the teacher can be contacted at: raskin@dac.au.dk
