ELSA (The European Law Students’ Association) Bucharest is pleased to invite you to attend one of the two International Summer Schools that will take place simultaneously at the end of July (21st -31st of July): “Law Is Better Than War" – Human Rights in Asymmetric Conflicts and “Banking and Finance Litigation".
The 1st Edition of Banking and Finance Litigation - International Summer School, an ten-day academic programme which aims to reunite 25 international students with a strong interest in the legal aspect of banking and finance. Taking place place during the 21st and 31st of July in Prahova Valley, Romania, this international summer school sets high academic standards and also offers a wide range of cultural and social activities.
Banking and Finance Litigation sets out to improve the participants’ knowledge of banking and finance law in general and more specifically regarding litigations. This will be done by presenting the means which should be known by a specialised banking and finance litigation lawyer, as well as thouroughly develop one’s analitical skills and orathorical capabilities.
Adjoining speakers from the lines of renowed lecturers and experienced practiciens from multinational law firms is one if the main requisites in order to offer specialised information and knowledge regarding this active branch of law. The academic activities of this summer school are spread across the whole 10 days of the event, ranging from activities and workshops to case studies and a moot court competition, during which participants will simulate a real litigation.

Law Is Better Than War - Humanitarian Law Summer School, which is an ten-day international summer school that will take place in Prahova Valley, Romania between the 21st of July and 31st of July. This summer school sets as its goals promoting the values of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights through an excellent academic program consisting of a large variety of courses, seminars, workshops, case studies, moot court competitions and one final test paper, all these being held by international law personalities.
In past editions, our collaboration with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations High Commission of Refugees, resulted in partnerships that brought prestige and value to the event, as such, the impressive academic agenda lead to this summer school's receiving the European Council's award for the best Humanitarian Law School in Eastern Europe in 2007.
Since Law is Better Than War has been conceived as a gradual learning experience, we promote this year's theme as a sequel to the previous ones:
