The summer school intends to be a key venue to expand and deepen the work of scholars interested in the interface of two of humanity`s most central approaches to the search for truth and meaning.
Open to junior and mid-career scholars seeking enhanced engagement with central
topics in science and religion. The theme for the 2009 summer school is `Evolution and Human Uniqueness.`

The school will meet 26 May through 30 May 2009. Lecturers include Frans De Waal, Karl Giberson, Simon Conway Morris, Michael Ruse, and Jozef Zycinski. The school directors are Karl Giberson, Thomas Jay Oord, William Shea, and Donald Yerxa. T
he Venice School on Science and Religion will award scholarships to participants whose proposals are chosen as most relevant for the school`s discussion in a particular year. Interested individuals should submit materials when applying for admission to a summer session.
All application materials for the school are due 12 November 2008.
Notification of acceptance will be 31 January 2009.
