The Humanities Research Center - Bulgaria together with the Institute ofSociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Chairs of Sociology at Sofiaand Southwestern Universities have the pleasure to announce a SummerSchool for Young Social Scientists. We are planning to held it between June1-10 2007 most probably at the seaside.It will gather a faculty of leading Bulgarian and European experts, and willbe devoted to the improvement of knowledge in the fields of sociology,social practice, social awareness and about environmental issues. Thisworkshop will include such topics as ethnosociology, issues of poverty,culture under market society, conflict resolution, social work, involvementof potential stockholders and other interested parties, lobbying, Ecodesign.Working visits to related sites as municipality, ethnic minorities'communities, a national park/reserve, and so on is provided whereparticipants will discuss with staff and local authorities and NGOs abouttheir experience. Curricula is still under preparation and, thus, we arestill able to accept suggestions and inquiries to improve it to meet in thebest possible way interests and demands of the potential participants.We are still looking for additional funding, but at the moment we expectparticipants to cover transportation, accommodation and otherexpenses. The fee to be paid for attendance is 400 Euro/500 USD untilMarch 2007, and 500 Euro/600 USD for late applicants. This amountcovers tutition, accomodation, meals and one working trip related to thechosen topic. There might be additional payment for tourist trips forvisiting historical or natural landmarks.We are looking forward for more foreign participants in our SummerSchool. This might be the first step toward a fruitful cooperationbetween our academic communities, which is still too scarce.
