22 July - 31 July, Prague, Czech Republic You will spend 10 days in Prague learning how to be a foreign correspondent from people who have first-hand experience working for major national and international news organizations.Training from experienced journalistsUnlike many other journalism training programs, the TOL course offers you much more than theory. Our instructors are all experienced foreign correspondents, who have worked for internationally-respected media such as Reuters, the BBC, The Boston Globe, The Economist, The Independent and Radio Free Europe.What will you learn?By tapping into the instructors first-hand experiences, you will learn the essential skills of international reporting, including:- how to break into foreign reporting;- finding your feet in a foreign country;- pitching your ideas to editors;- finding the story no one else has;- staying safe in dangerous and unpredictable places;- and much more!The course also features a visit to Radio Free Europe, including a tour of the newsroom and a roundtable session with the stations journalists. Finally, towards the end of the course you will apply your newly-learnt skills to write a news story, which will be edited and critiqued by professional journalists.
