The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University and is looking for the field of Manufacturing Technology for 3 PhD candidates (M/F) to enter a national competition for research funding.
Under the condition that the project is selected, the positions will be financed by the Luxembourgish AFR (Aide Formation Recherche) fellowship.
- 3 year fixed-term contract, renewable one year under justified circumstances
- Student AND employee status
Our manufacturing technology research develops production technologies in the area of laser processing, robotics and wireless automation.
- One PhD project is part of the Laser Technology Competence Center. Purpose is first to understand and then optimise the laser joining process of non-similar materials which are required for electro-mobility or production of solar cells.
- The PhD Project in Robotic research will investigate new algorithms for force controlled joining of automobile parts based on the analysis of robotic internal force and torque signals.
- The PhD Project on wireless automation will investigate new methods to analyse radio signals, like 2,4 GHz WLAN, to boost the accuracy and range of position detection of wireless devices.
