The University will introduce a doctoral education system consisting of four doctoral schools and 32 doctoral programmes at the beginning of 2014. The goal of the reform is to improve the quality and efficiency of the doctoral education.

The University of Helsinki invites applications for 5 DOCTORAL STUDENT POSITIONS in the Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences for a 1-4 year period starting from 1.1.2014.

Description of the doctoral programme

The Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences covers all the disciplines at the Department of Social Research; social psychology, social work, social and cultural anthropology, sociology, statistics, media and communication studies and social and public policy. The Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences is the largest doctoral programme and the Department of Social Research is the most significant teaching and research unit in its field in Finland.
