FULBRIGHT POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH AND UNIVERSITY LECTURING AWARDS TO THE U.S. FOR 2007-2008 The Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission is pleased to announce the annual competition for Fulbright Senior grants for Romanian citizens. Grants are available for: ?? conducting research at the U.S. institutions and/or ?? lecturing in the United States in Romanian studies (language, history, culture and civilization). The candidates will be selected through open, merit-based competition in any field except clinical medicine. Grant duration is between 3-8 months. Preference will be given to subjects related to the social, economic, and political changes in Romania. Thefollowing fields of study are considered a priority: BUSINESS/ECONOMICS; EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION/CIVIC EDUCATION; JOURNALISM/MASS COMMUNICATION; ENVIRONMETAL POLICY/RESOURCE MANAGEMENT; LAW; PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION/PUBLIC POLICY; SOCIAL SCIENCES; THE HUMANITIES. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Applicants must meet the following criteria: ?? Hold Romanian citizenship ?? Hold a doctoral degree or equivalent ?? Demonstrate that they will benefit professionally from research and/or lecturing in the U.S. ?? Submit a complete application package including a detailed statement of proposed activity for researcH or lecturing at an American institution, letters of reference from university professors and/or other acknowledged Romanian or foreign professionals, as well as official documents along with certified translations of their PhD diploma ?? Candidates are strongly encouraged to attach invitation letter(s) from potential US host institution(s) ?? Show a proficiency in English (interviews will be conducted in English) ?? Submit a certificate of health upon request ??
