The activity of the Department of Computer Science and Technology is focused in three key areas, namely Computer Science, Creative Technology and Engineering Technology. It enjoys a growing international reputation in the field of Computer Science and this is underpinned in its significant research funding from sources such as EPSRC, the Leverhulme Trust and the European Union. The Department also has strong links with local national and international industry and has a very multicultural student body.
The Department is looking to appoint two 0.5 FTE Research Demonstrators. The postholders will support the Department’s practical work, in particular student sessions in the computer labs and test networks. This responsibility will include 18.5 hours of lab-based work per week on average.
The postholder will be expected to enroll for an MPhil as a part-time student with the view of transferring to a PhD within 3 years. Available areas of expertise for supervision can be found on the website for the Institute for Research in Applicable Computing.

Salary: L10,164 to L11,118 (L20,327 to L22,236 pro rata) p.a. depending on qualifications and experience (plus Home/EU fees for a part-time research degree)
