We are looking for a talented young researcher for the Sub-Project Acquisition and reconstruction based motion management in cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Description
As part of our Marie-Curie EU initiative BERTI: Biomedical Imaging and Informatics - European Research and Training Initiative, we aim to develop Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologies to acquire high quality diagnostic images of moving organs like the human heart. The data acquisition and reconstruction will be based on new technologies taking real time and predictive models of motion into account, some of which have been developed by our partner at the University de Loraine, Nancy (IADI) [1].

The goal is to reduce patient discomfort and acquisition time, and to increase diagnostic value and quantitative nature of the images. The tools to be applied are related to generalized free breathing acquisition, advanced field mapping technologies, new reconstruction technologies etc..

This research study is a joint effort of TUM, the General Electric Company with its Global Research Centre located on the campus of the TUM and the IADI lab in Nancy. The candidate will spend a period of time at IADI to be trained on the details of the GRICS algorithm and to be involved in the acquisition and reconstruction of cardiac MRI in clinical environment.
