The successful candidate will be based in the Identits, Politiques, Socits et Espaces research unit, working within the disciplinary Political Science and the interdisciplinary European Governance research groups. Under the direction of Prof. Robert Harmsen, the candidate will have the opportunity of completing a doctoral thesis in the area of higher education (HE) policy.
It is intended that the candidate’s work should broadly fit into the research programme already established within the framework of the ‘Euro-Uni’ project. As such, the intended research should normally address themes such as the ‘Europeanisation’ of higher education and research policy (including the Bologna Process and impacts of the Lisbon Agenda); the comparative study of domestic reform processes in the HE sector (including external influences); and/or the contextualisation of European HE policy trends relative to wider international developments.
