The University will introduce a doctoral education system consisting of four doctoral schools and 32 doctoral programmes at the beginning of 2014. The goal of the reform is to improve the quality and efficiency of the doctoral education.
The University of Helsinki invites applications for THREE DOCTORAL STUDENT POSITIONS in the Doctoral Programme in Law for a fixed term of no more than four years starting from 1.1.2014. There can be a four-month trial period for the positions.
Doctoral students in the Doctoral Programme in Law can carry out research in any field in law. The extensive approach of the doctoral programme encourages to broaden the scope in research, theoretical reasoning and interdisciplinary research. The Doctoral Programme in Law is part of the Doctoral School in Humanities and social sciences.
The duties of a doctoral student are to work on his or her own doctoral dissertation and to complete his or her postgraduate studies. In addition to conducting research leading to the doctoral dissertation, the doctoral student will participate in teaching duties and other duties at the Faculty.
