The fellowship will be attached to the ongoing research project Editing Papyrus Texts from the collection of the Oslo University Library. The aim of the above project is to prepare editions (including translation and commentary) of unpublished Greek papyrus texts from the collection of the Oslo University Library. The task of the PhD fellow will be to study the papyrus texts from a linguistic point of view, so as to identify and explore in depth linguistic changes in Greek (preferably in the fields of Greek syntax, semantics and stylistics) which may be further illuminated in the light of papyrus texts.
Candidates who are accepted must participate in the Faculty of Humanities’ researcher education program (cf. regulations and supplementary provisions for the faculty’s researcher education) and must also engage in the designated research activities on a 100 percent basis. The designated aim of the project is to complete a doctoral dissertation to be defended at a public disputation for the Ph.D.-degree.
The position is available for a period of three years.
