Doctoral Research Fellowship in Science and Mathematics Education A doctoral research fellowship designated Science and Mathematics Education is available at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research. Applicants for this position must submit a project description outlining a research problem in Science and Mathematics Education that must be related to one of the Department’s prioritized fields of research and/or research groups.



Three faculty research groups are located at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research: Measurement and Evaluation of Student Achievement (MESA), Teacher Professionalism and Educational Change; Practices, Purposes, Policies (TEPEC), and Studies of Instruction across Subjects and Competences (SISCO). Academic staff at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research are also members of other faculty research groups. The Department of Teacher Education and School Research has a specific commitment to conducting school relevant research. The following are central areas of research at the Department: classroom research, measurement and evaluation in education, pedagogic and subject didactic research (especially in upper secondary education), research about teacher education, ICT and educational change, research on educational leadership, school governance and international comparative educational research. The ProTed Centre focuses on research that illuminates integration and coherence in study design for teacher education and teacher professional learning in a knowledge society.
