The Faculty of Applied Economics is seeking to fill the following full-time vacancy in the Department of Transport and Regional Economics - Research Centre on Freight and passenger flows Doctoral student in the area of port competition

Job description

The position is meant to conduct research on port economics in general and port competitiveness in specific. The aim is to quantify the changed relationships among chain actors, their decision-making framework, and the mutual impacts this has. You should have a good methodological background. Proven research expertise in quantitative research methods and techniques is considered a plus. Your research should allow governments to develop a sustainable port policy.

  • You prepare a doctoral thesis in regard to chain perspective on port competiveness;
  • You contribute to research in the Department of Transport and Regional Economics – Research Centre on Freight and passenger flows, in the field of ports;
  • You enroll in the university's Ph.D. program and obtain a Ph.D. at the end of the Dehousse grant.
