The Rotary District 5960 Club offers The Global Grant Scholarships for the Fall 2011 in USA.

District 5960 has been selected as a Future Vision Pilot District for Rotary International. This exciting opportunity to test the waters in some new areas and help Rotary focus its efforts means that some of our programs will change. Beginning in 2010, our District will not be offering Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships. Instead, we will offer a Global Grant Scholarship.

Program Details:

Applications will be available in April 2010; District interviews will take place in Fall 2010 and international processing of the applications will take place in Spring 2011
Global grants must relate to one or more of the six areas of Rotary focus and have a long-term impact.

1. Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
2. Disease prevention and treatment
3. Water and sanitation
4. Maternal and child health
5. Basic education and literacy
6. Economic and community development

Items required at time of district application (Fall 2010)

1. Proposed university in a Rotary Future Vision District
2. Proposed field of study within one of the six areas of Rotary focus
3. Proposed degree and timeline
4. Estimated budget
5. Proposed humanitarian project in the host district
6. Complete information regarding:

Explain how the scholar’s program of study relates to the selected area of focus.
Describe the educations and professional goals of the scholar and how the scholarship will help to advance these goals.
How will the scholar use his/her education to address a need on a long-term basis in his/her hosting and/or international sponsoring community(ies)?
