The International Max Planck Research School IMPRS-Age is the new graduate school of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing formed together with the Max Planck Institute for Neurological Research, and the Center of Advanced European Studies and Research (CAESAR).

We are exploring fundamental questions about the nature of ageing and longevity in various model organisms. Join us to find out:

The overall goal of our institute is to understand the natural ageing process and to discover longevity mechanisms that enhance health and ameliorate age-related diseases. In particular, our research focuses on the roles of signalling through insulin/insulin- like growth factor and steroidal hormones, cellular components involved in growth control and nutrient sensing, factors regulating metabolism and the function of mitochondria and mechanisms of neurodegeneration and other age-related diseases. We collaborate with the CECAD Graduate School of the CECAD Cluster of Excellence in Cellular Stress Responses in Aging-associated Diseases at the University of Cologne.
