The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen is pleased to announce that two PhD fellowships will be available from 1 December 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. Applications are invited for the three-year fellowship from candidates that hold or expect to hold a masters degree in a field relevant to the following projects:
  1. Development of selective probes of Protein arginine N-Methyl Transferases (PRMT?s). Supervisor: Associate Professor Jesper L. Kristensen, Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology. Apply online
  2. Elucidation of the role of mixed micelles in absorption of poorly water soluble drugs. Supervisor: Professor Thomas Rades, Department of Pharmacy. Apply online
The PhD fellowships are financed by the departments. The projects are part of the departments? collaboration with the University of British Columbia, Canada, and are expected to lead to a double PhD degree at the University of Copenhagen and the University of British Columbia.



The PhD students will spend time, ideally equal time, in Canada and Denmark, and fulfil the academic requirements for both Universities. In Denmark, the PhD fellowships are to be completed in accordance with the Ministerial order on the PhD programme at the universities (PhD order) from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Regulations and guidelines for the conferment of the PhD degree by the Faculty. The terms of employment are stated in the agreement between The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the Ministry of Finance.
