These scholarships were established in 2007 on behalf of sponsors of the ICT Innovation Institute (NZi3) at the University of Canterbury for the purpose of encouraging research in the field of ICT, either in conjunction with a company or with the intention of developing and commercialising a product. (For the purposes of this award ICT refers to technologies which embody hardware or software in a product, rather than their use in a service industry).
The NZi3 Master's Scholarships are tenable for full-time study towards a Master's degree by thesis in the general field of Information and Communication Technology at the University of Canterbury. Candidates must be undertaking thesis research that is relevant to the ICT industry.
