The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University. SnT is a recently formed centre carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners.

PhD Student position in Software Engineering for SmartHome project (M/F)

Your Role
The PhD student position is offered within the SmartHome project. The SmartHome project is developed in collaboration with POST Luxembourg (http://www.pt.lu/portal/lang/en/Entreprise). Your role will be to do your PhD on the project related topics, while working on the software developments and data mining area and contributing to the five following aspects of the SmartHome project, namely:
- Design hardware and software solutions to be deployed in homes, in such a way that they can evolve and accept heterogeneous technologies,
- Lay out the hardware and software infrastructure of the cloud solution to host the services so that it is secure, scalable and reliable,
- Enforce the security, privacy and anonymization of data wherever it is necessary,
- Mine data to detect patterns in situations, environments, and/or user behaviours,
- Develop APIs and safe accesses to the system through social media.
