Applications are invited for a 4-year PhD position in Molecular Neurophysiology at the Donders Centre for Neuroscience, in the groups of Prof. Paul Tiesinga and Dr Armaz Aschrafi (Department of Neuroinformatics), and Prof. Tansu Celikel (Department of Neurophysiology), Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands). This PhD project will combine optogenetics, physiological, molecular and behavioral studies to gain a better understanding of the network basis of touch sensation.
You will be responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting your research data under the direct supervision of Dr Aschrafi, and will have access to the infrastructure and expertise of the Departments of Neuroinformatics and Neurophysiology. You will write at least four papers on your research outcomes, resulting in a doctoral dissertation. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and will devote about 10% of your time to the supervision of BSc and MSc level theses on similar topics.
