The Department of Software Technology is one of the leading Dutch groups active in research and academic education in the area of computer science, employing more than 100 people.

Job description

The Software Engineering Research Group (SERG) is seeking an enthusiastic Master student interested in earning a PhD in designing and analysing evolvable software architectures of embedded systems in the healthcare domain.

Industrial practice shows that it is very difficult to improve devices by adapting and extending the embedded software. Small changes often lead to unexpected consequences, due to unknown interactions and dependencies between parts of the system.

Allegio aims at defining and integrating a set of methods and techniques to support a systematic “Right by Design” component-based software design approach for complex embedded systems. This allows incremental changes to be predictable and to meet the required system qualities such as performance and safety.
