The Law Department of Middlesex University Business School is offering a unique PhD studentship (open to both UK/EU and overseas candidates) on a subject under the general heading of "The regulation of age discrimination outside the field of employment".
This is an area of law which will be developing over the next few years as the Government extends the scope of age discrimination regulation into the fields of facilities, goods and services. The successful applicant will be supervised by and work with Professor Malcolm Sargeant, one of the UK’s leading academics in the field of age discrimination regulation.
Eligibility:
Applications are invited from highly motivated and academically excellent candidates. A first or upper second class degree in law or some other relevant discipline is required as well as a real interest in developing research in this field. The PhD studentship is a 1+3 award amounting to a waiver of fees and a bursary of £13,290 per annum.
Studentship Details:
The studentship is offered on a full-time basis, subject to satisfactory progress. The level of the maintenance element of the studentship is linked to the level of corresponding awards made by UK research councils and is subject to annual review. In addition to work on the doctoral research project, successful applicants will be expected to contribute to associated activities within the Department and the School.
