With special focus on processing and performance of biobased membranes for water cleanin, The Division of Materials Science at Lule University of Technology, Sweden, has a PhD-student position available for research on the use of biobased nanomaterials like nanocellulose and nanochitin in water cleaning technology.
Nanostructured materials separated from bioresources are an exciting research field. These materials can be used as functional additives or reinforcement in different biopolymers to obtain desired properties. In this project we wish to expand our successful work in the area of processing of novel biobased nanocomposites to a new application area, viz. membranes.
This project is a part of EU FP7 program, NanoSelect. You will be based at Lule University of Technology and will collaborate with our partners in Sweden and other parts of Europe. We can offer well-equipped laboratory facilities for performing research in bionanomaterials and good industrial and academic network in Sweden and Europe. The project is for 4 years.
