One PhD position is reserved for applicants in Islamic Theology and Philosophy within in one of our eleven disciplines, provided that the applicants are qualified for studies at research level. The field Islamic theology and philosophy covers the study of Islamic world-views, philosophical ideas, theological interoperations and ideologies that have influenced the Muslim world of ideas. Fundamental for this field is theological traditions and philosophical perceptions developed in the tension between different orientations within Islam and perceptions shaped by the interaction with other cultures and intellectual traditions.
