The Leuven Institute for Research on Information Systems (LIRIS) performs research on the business aspects of Information and on the Information aspects of Business.
Main research topics are: architecture, modelling and development of information systems, enterprise architecture and modelling, business rules, data, processes and events, database and content management, business intelligence and knowledge discovery, process mining, services, IT services, simulation, network economics, business-ICT integration and alignment, enterprise application integration, governance and compliance.
Research projects in these domains are focusing both on fundamental research as on applied research.

We are looking for a full-time PhD researcher to conduct research inthe field of 'Improving Process Modeling and Control using Advanced Business Process Analytics and Enriched Event Logs'.
Project description:
The fields of business process analytics (including process mining) and business process management have become essential in supporting business operations. Although business process analysis is able to extract valuable knowledge, there still exist some intricacies which can present themselves when dealing with real business processes.
