DTU Nutech, Technical University of Denmark, is seeking candidates for a PhD position to develop a spectroscopy system for fluorescence and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) measurements.
The Radiation Physics Programme of DTU Nutech carries out fundamental and applied research within the areas of retrospective radiation dosimetry, medical and industrial dosimetry, and reactor physics. The programme presently consists of 30 people including Researchers, Technicians and PhD students engaged in research, innovation and education.
Job description
There is a general lack of a convenient, flexible instrument for both excitation and luminescence spectroscopy (~300-1000 nm) in OSL dosimetry studies. Availability of such an instrument will help in a) understanding the physics of luminescence processes, b) adjusting the experimental parameters to gain higher detection efficiency, and c) developing new dosimetric methods based on selective discrimination of detection and excitation wavelengths in the range that has not been realised so far. The set up should include a sample cooling option and a Time-Correlated Photon Counting System (TCPCS).
