University of Wollongong (UOW) is a prestigious teaching and research University. The Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI) is a collaborative venture of UOW and the South Eastern Sydney Illawarra Area Health Service (SWSIAHS). Its goal is to further develop health and medical research undertaken in the Illawarra, with a focus on collaboration across the academic and clinical research contexts.

IHMRI is seeking two PhD students that will focus on project dealing with lipid metabolism and Alzheimer’s disease under the supervisor of ARC Future Fellow, Professor Brett Garner. Applicants must have attained a first or upper second class honours degree in a relevant biomedical field. Sound communication, organisational and academic writing skills are required and background in lipid metabolism or an area of neuroscience would be desired.

Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is unspecified (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Honours 2a or equivalent.
