At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Electronic Systems, two PhD stipends are available within the PhD programme Wireless Communications.
Job description
The objective of the PhD projects is to design realistic, accurate, and parsimonious channel models for advanced wireless systems equipped with MIMO, cooperation, and localization capabilities. Use cases will be centralized LTE/LTE-A-like systems and short-range decentralized UWB-like systems.
The projects will address research topics along the following scientific avenues:
- Characterization of the non-stationary behaviour of the channel response in a wide-band scenario for indoor and outdoor environments.
- Sparse representation of (multi-dimensional) MIMO time-varying channel responses.
- Multi-link channel modelling for cooperative systems.
- Hybrid channel models combining ray-tracing and stochastic methods.
Agreement
Appointment and salary as a PhD fellow are according to the Ministry of Finance Circular of October 1, 2008 on the Collective Agreement for Academics in Denmark, Appendix 5, regarding PhD fellows, and with the Ministry of Finance Circular of June 13, 2007 on the employment structure at Danish Universities.
