SAMOSS is an international Marie Curie network-project funded by the European Union and starting on October 1st 2013 with partners in Austria, France, Israel, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands. Its overall task will be complex sensor systems developed for multiple parameters sensing on real samples combined with signal enhancement strategies.

The network will focus on research and development of new materials for optochemical sensing and microfluidic applications, microfluidic sample handling modules, multifunctional elements, signal enhancement and innovative detection systems. Within this network we offer the position of a PhD student to work on an individual project in close cooperation with the SAMOSS partner institutions. The researcher will benefit from the networks training program provided through a number of training events as well as by local training offered by AIT.

Description

On-chip immunoassays for selected extracellular and intracellular markers and antibiotics. Immobilization of Caco-2 cells on a solid surface using three approaches: nanostructured surface; hydrogel; protein linker

Toxicity/ bioavailability testing using both protein and cell array: proof-of-concept for two application fields: nanoadditives in food (e.g. TiO2) and pharmaceuticals (antibiotics)
Integration of cell- and protein array to a single analysis tool
