Uppsala University hereby declares the following position to be open for application: PhD student in time-resolved spectroscopy and instrumental development at the HELIOS laboratory at the division of molecular and condensed matter physics, the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Uppsala University, preferably starting September 1, 2011.
You will be participating in the construction of a light source based on HHG (Higher Harmonic Generation) called HELIOS (High Energy Laser Induced Overtone Source) which will be used for time resolved studies (pump-probe) and development of detection methods to be used at the HELIOS source. Both soft- and hardware development will be performed.
You will also participate in our research on liquid systems, both by using HELIOS for time resolved pump-probe experiments, for which you will be a key individual during your Ph. D. studies. You will also perform synchrotron based complementary measurements together with researchers at the division. These experiments will be performed both in Sweden and abroad, why a certain amount of travels will be expected.
