The division of Production Systems is a part of the Department of Product and Production Development, where main competences are in areas of design, product development and production systems. Important areas are also found in the interaction between these disciplines. Research is aimed at addressing the needs of finished products while achieving value for the customer. The majority of research is done in collaboration with industry. The department has more than 90 employees organized into three divisions: Production Systems; Product Development; and Design & Human Factors.

Research and education at Chalmers University of Technology, is on technology, science and architecture. Our motivation comes from a desire to discover and to learn new things. Job description

Do you want to work with mobile IT in industrial production systems? We are searching for an ambitious PhD candidate for a position at Chalmers' Division of Production Systems. The PhD project will develop smart IT solutions for industrial operators of the future in manufacturing and mining industry.

The PhD position is part of a national project for the operator of the future (Framtidsoperatren). You will work with mobile and flexible applications, information hierarchies and ICT-structures. You will develop ICT-tools for real industrial cases within assembly, maintenance and process control. You will also develop software solutions for Chalmers’ production systems laboratory.
