There are a few Ph.D. students opening in the research group of Prof. Kap Jin Kim in the Department of Advanced Materials for Information & Electronics, College of Engineering, Kyung Hee University, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do 446-701, SOUTH KOREA
The research works will be focused on (1) Regenerated cellulose fiber based on cotton-linter pulp; (2) Organic & Polymer memory; (3) Smart apparel with health managing function; (4) Organic & polymeric sensors for smart & intelligent textiles; (5) Organic photovoltaics & Dye sensitized solar cells; (6) Poly(phenylene sulfide) fiber; (7) Nanogenerator based on piezoelectric polymer and ceramic nanorod; (8) Preparation of organic & polymer nanorod using anodized aluminium oxide (AAO) with an opportunity to gain experience in advanced polymer materials, electronic devices fabrication, polymer sensors, energy harvesting devices, vital signal measurement & analysis using smart & intelligent textiles.
Sensor-related research works require basic knowledge on electric circuit, LabVIEW, MatLAB, electronic property measuring instruments and fiber related research works require basic knowledge about X-diffraction, optical birefringence, chain orientation, etc. The research project is highly competitive and rewarding and will provide the selected candidate with an all-round professional and career development.
The applicants having a Master’s degree in polymer & fiber chemistry and polymer & fiber material science with strong background in electronics and physics are encouraged to apply.
