The Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School of Literary Studies, funded by the `Excellence Initiative` of the German Government, will award two Postdoctoral fellowships. Awards are tenable for two years (not renewable) from October 1st 2010.
Research areas include the relationship between literature and other types of texts; the links between literary texts and processes of linguistic reflection; rhetoric and poetics; the correlations between literature and other media, as well as between literature and discourses of knowledge. The Postdoctoral Fellows will conduct their own research; additionally, they will have the opportunity to participate in planning academic conferences, workshops or lecture series, in cooperation with regional and international partner institutions of the Graduate School. They will be expected to attend the academic events organized by the Graduate School, and to participate in discussions with the doctoral candidates.
Requirements:
Outstanding doctoral degree in a discipline from the fields of literary or cultural studies, awarded no more than two years before the date of application.
A research project that falls within the field of research conducted at the Graduate School; preferably from the area of `Transfer of Culture/ Transfer of Knowledge` or `Translation`
Excellent command of both German and English

The scholarship, the travel and book allowances as well as family or child care allowances are awarded according to the guidelines of the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinsch aft).
