The SECuRE and Trustworthy Computing Lab (SECRETLab) at the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to be filled as soon as possible. The CIS department has strengths in compute security, data mining, natural language processing, graphics, and high performance and distributed computing. This position is funded by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.

Position duties and responsibilities:
Area of primary interest is computer security and mobile devices. Experience with Database forensics and Database audits are optional. Research and development activities at the initial stage will include the development of a secure location provenance system on smart phones along with development and analysis of security protocols.


Term:

The initial term of appointment is for 1 year, with the expectation of renewal based on performance.
