Summer Courses Program The Summer Courses of Romanian Language, Culture and Civilization take place between august 16th and September 5th, 2005. Crash courses in Standard Romanian are offered at three levels: for beginners, intermediate students and advanced students. At the beginning of the programme, a test will establish the level of the course you will be taking. In addition to these language courses the programme acquainting you with the Romanian literature, culture and civilization contains debates, round-table talks, introductory workshops on Romanian folk music and dance, visits at various institutions, sight seeing and opportunities to meet important personalities of Romanian cultural life. The course comprises a translation workshop and text interpretation based on various Romanian literary works. In order to come as close as possible to your interests and wishes we should be much obliged if you would mention in the enrolment form which of the activities offered interest you. A trip at the end of the course and several weekend outings are included in the course price-package. The course price package also includes handbooks and other materials elaborated by the academic staff of The University of the West in Timişoara. The participants have full access to the reading rooms of The Central University Library and to its data - base. Fees: The Course, the didactic materials, the organized visits and the trips cost 350 EURO; The Accommodation at the hotel costs approx. 30 EURO /day The Accommodation at the hostel costs approx. 10 EURO /day The fee shall be paid exclusively in EURO to Banca Comerciala Romana, Sucursala Timişoara, account nr. 2511.1 49.14 /EURO, during the first week of the Courses. Accommodation: There are two types of accommodation to choose from: a two star hotel in the centre of Timişoara, in two-bed rooms or a students hostel very close to the university, in two - bed rooms, with a shared shower on the corridor and no breakfast included. How to reach the campus: Take tram 8 from North (Main) Railway Station and get off at the stop called Sala Olimpia, or if you fly to Timişoara, take the trolley bus 15 or 16 close to were you get off the airport bus in front of the TAROM headquarters and get off the trolley bus at the stop called Liceul de Muzica "Ion Vidu". Meals: You can eat at the hotel restaurant or at one of the many small restaurants, bars, cafeterias, fast food restaurants (McDonalds etc.), which lie close to the hotel, to the University or to the campus or even on campus.
