Applications are invited for two PhD scholarships at the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen. Employment is to begin on 1 March 2014. The two PhD projects involve cognitive and neuropsychiatric research on ADHD.
Project 1 focuses on children with ADHD and is based at the Department of Psychology and the Centre for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Region Copenhagen RHP. Project 1 involves recruitment, clinical assessment, and psychological testing of children with ADHD before and after pharmacological treatment. Project 2 focuses on adults with ADHD and is based at the Department of Psychology and Psychiatric Center Glostrup. Project 2 involves recruitment, clinical assessment, and psychological testing of adults with ADHD before and after pharmacological treatment. Project 2 is closely associated with a third PhD project that focuses on the medical treatment of ADHD and cognitive pharmacology in normal participants.
Both PhD projects are part of the "Attention to Dopamine" initiative under the University of Copenhagens Excellence Programme for Interdisciplinary Research. "Attention to Dopamine" combines neuropharmacological, cognitive, and psychiatric research in a wide-ranging attempt to understand the relation between attentional functions and the brains dopaminergic system.
