With focus on Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Technologies and Maintenance Decision Support Models. The SKF University Technology Centre (UTC) in advanced condition monitoring is located at Lule University of Technology (LTU) in Sweden. The research centre is expanding and has open PhD-student positions for individuals who wish to develop technology for future intelligent machines in cooperation with SKF's R&D centers in the Netherlands, Scotland, USA and Sweden.
An exciting feature of the UTC is the multidisciplinary research environment, which involves collaboration between seniors and Ph.D. students focusing on four research areas:
Tribology with focus on monitoring and controlling surface contact conditions in service.
Sensors and models for monitoring of the bearings and their operating environment.
Communication and signal processing technologies for conversion of data into prognostic information and initiation of corrective actions when required.
Maintenance management data systems and condition-based maintenance processes.
