Knowledge Transfer Associate: Performance of Breathable Materials in UK dwellings
University College London – UCL Bartlett School of Graduate Studies

Based at Natural Building Technologies in Oakley Buckinghamshire, the Associate will understand the extent breathable materials can reduce the risk of fabric damage and of poor indoor air quality in thermally upgraded buildings, thus widening the scope for the sale of these materials.


Full Time

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary will be L22,879 per annum, exclusive of London Allowance.

The project will use Laboratory testing, Computer Modelling and on site testing of the moisture performance of insulation and related materials used in renovation. The aim of the project is to design and apply standardised testing regimes that allow the in situ performance of different insulation materials to be compared and evaluated.

The post is funded for twenty four months in the first instance.

The Associate will have at least a 2:1 degree in a numerical discipline – ideally physical science or engineering. An interest in building design and energy issues is essential
