The Master of `Russian and East Central European Studies` at the University of Passau is a research-oriented and interdisciplinary study programme, inwhich highly qualified graduates from diverse bachelor programmes from the University of Passau as well as from other universities and colleges of higher education in Germany and abroad work on related issues.
The extension of regional knowledge on Eastern Europe as well as general methodological skills will be part of the curriculum. The Language Centre of the University of Passau offers courses in Russian, Czech, and Polish into which students can enrol to further improve the students'' skills in anEastern European language.
The knowledge and the skills acquired will prepare the students for jobs in diverse academic institutions, in business, culture, administration and politics. The students will also be experts in intercultural communication. The focus on Eastern Europe will provide a special regional competence in one of Europe''s important developing areas.
The duration of the programme including exams is 4 semesters (standard period of studies). 120 ECTS have to be achieved (30 ECTS per term).
Applications should be sent to the Board of Admission before July 15 each year (for the winter semester 2007/08 before 30 September 2007).
