MASTERAT IN STRAINATATE: DESIGN AND CRAFT INDUSTRY, ISITUTO EUROPEO DI DESIGN
4/4512
calendar_month 30 Aug 2007, 00:00
This master will help students to understand how to apply design to the craft industry: in fact we know that in many countries there is a huge craft tradition that very often cannot found the right way to internationalizatio n and worldwide markets.

In this perspective, the Master course is an occasion for reflection on design projects applied to handicraft production, primarily related to glass, but also ceramics, textiles and mosaics.

This master will teach how is possible for the craft industry of your country to reach international standards and become therefore a valuable export good, without, of course, losing its specific cultural and traditional peculiarities. This course will therefore teach how to upgrade the design of craft products and how to market them.

Students will have, after that, the possibility of applying these valuable know-how in their country of origin.

Course duration will be of 8 intensive full months (starting January 24th 2008), the course will be in English at the very promotionalprice of 9.800 euro; attendance: full-time from Monday to Friday

Location will be in our new Venice seat, in a wonderful island whole devoted to IED activities and surrounded by one of the world richest and famous networks of craft industries.

Objective

Participants will be guided towards this new design awareness by close examination of both technical and artistic aspects, supportedby a range of cognitive and practical-theoretic al instruments aimed at imparting technical, historical and sociological knowledge, aswell as direct experience in design management, versatility, creativity and possible ways of applying this within the industry.
