The second week (July 1 to 7, 2012) will give attention to the relevance of "Spatial Information in Science and Society". After ten successful years of Vespucci Institutes, the initiative invites all alumni for free and newcomers with a 50% discount on the regular rate to join us in exploring the growing role of spatial information in the sciences and in society at large. Facilitators are: Cristina Capineri, Max Craglia, Michael Gould and Werner Kuhn.

Target group
The Summer Institute is aimed at researchers from the university, commercial, and government sectors. It provides an inspiring and productive opportunity for peer-to-peer interaction with leading international experts in the field.
Course aim
Participants will:
- Learn the state of the art in the topic areas- Understand and explore tomorrow's research and market challenges
- Be challenged to think laterally outside their daily work setting
- Present their own work and ideas to receive feedback and Get one-on-one access to experts in a relaxed and productive enviorment
- Improve presentation and team work
- Return home refreshed and newly motivated
