Target group
This summer school is particularly suited to students age 17 plus who are seeking a professional training experience or are thinking about acting as a career. The short course will also be useful to experienced actors who are keen to refresh their skills or explore new ways of working.
Course aim
By the end of the summer school, each studentSummer School Student, August 2011 will have: been introduced to the essentials of textual analysis and building a character learned how to explore heightened text, verse- speaking and creating imagery as part of character, character relationships and story-telling gained an understanding of how to embody the voice as well as explore physicality in the performance of classical text explored and presented scenes and soliloquies from works by Shakespeare and classical Greek dramatists
